Wayne W. Seybold is currently Senior Vice President with the Horton Insurance Group. Wayne was elected the 29th Mayor for the City of Marion, Indiana. He took office January 1st, 2004. He was the first person in the history of Marion to be elected to three consecutive terms. During his administration, Mayor Seybold worked diligently to re-capture quality of life in declaring “Make it Marion” by enhancing community pride providing an esthetically clean environment, a strong economic foundation, and a marketable future for the community. He made several economic development trips around North America, Europe, and Asia which resulted in three billion dollars in new investment. He was invited to China to speak on Global Economic Development, at Beijing University, Tsinghua University, and the People’s Great Hall. Mayor Seybold served as President of Indiana Association of Cities and Towns and Indiana Mayor’s Association, He served on the board of the Community and Economic Development Committee, First-Tier Suburbs, and Technology for the National League of Cities. He was also the Chairman of Metropolitan Mayor’s Association of Indiana. He has been twice the recipient of the prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash, the highest State honor that the Governor of Indiana can give to an Indiana citizen. He has been featured in Governing Magazine, Legendary Hooisers, and on Inside Indiana Business. He is named in the Howey Report as one of the top 10 most influential Mayors over the last 20 years as well as one of the top 50 most influential people in Indiana.
Prior to running for Mayor Wayne lived in Los Angeles where he owned his own Sports and Entertainment Company. Nine years later he moved the Company to his hometown of Marion, Indiana where he also owned a restaurant, and was a Real Estate Agent.
In 1988 Wayne and his sister Natalie Kim Seybold-Catron represented the United States at the Calgary Winter Olympic Games.
